Lady of The Glen

Caol Ila 2013

A peaty distillate aged in a refill hogshead before finishing for eight months in a first-fill ex-ruby port cask, which imparts floral and red fruit notes.

Islay’s largest distillery undoubtedly produces one of the island’s purest spirits. This lighter character, supported by a peaty backbone, offers versatility when it comes to adding secondary cask maturation. In this case, the finishing cask has contributed red fruit, floral, and chocolate notes after more than eight months in an ex-ruby port hogshead from our good friends at Josafer Cooperage in Portugal.

Tasting notes revealed:

Smoky seaweed, dark chocolate, and cooked red fruits.

Dictador

Perpetual

Dictador XO Perpetual is made by fermenting unique virgin sugarcane honey, distilled in an antique alembic copper still, then aged in top-quality ex-bourbon barrels, as well as ex-sherry butts and port casks. Finally, we use our traditional family system where the master blender carefully balances delicate smoky and sweet flavors to create this exquisite blend that honors our ancestors and the Dictador heritage.

Deep mahogany brown with golden hues and a superb shine. Intricate roasted honey, Colombian coffee, mature oak, and vanilla roundness on the nose. The mouthfeel is extremely smooth with hints of spices and oak, creating a long, spicy, chocolate-filled finish.

It’s aged in hand-selected oak barrels of the highest quality from Jerez – which brings entirely new flavor depths.

Origin – Colombia

Cask aging – Ex-bourbon barrels, ex-sherry butts & port casks

Lady of The Glen

Longmorn 2011

Just outside the town of Elgin lies Longmorn Distillery, known for its sweet, fruity, and often chocolaty notes. The distillery is popular in the blended whisky industry, where the spirit is highly valued, but it’s hard for independent bottlers to get hold of.

This spirit has been aged in a second-fill Oloroso Butt and finished for 6 months in a first-fill ex-Pedro Ximenez hogshead.

A rarity worth mentioning! With layers of dried fruit and spices, along with a sherry sweetness, the finish reveals notes of leather, coffee, chocolate, and dried fruit.

Lady of The Glen

Dailuaine 2013

Dailuaine is a favorite among whisky lovers and is located in the heart of Speyside, where the distillery has been operating since 1852. It’s known for its complex, powerful, and mature style. This whisky has been finished in an active ex-Tawny port cask, which adds rich notes of ripe dried fruit and caramel.

This is a full-bodied single malt that’s rarely bottled on its own, making this cask a bit of a rarity. After over two years of aging in the Tawny port finish, it offers flavors of dried fruit, fudge, butter toffee, and caramel. The finish is long, with hints of dates, crème brûlée, and leather.

Lady of The Glen

Glenturret (Ruadh Maor) 2011

Ruadh Maor is Glenturret’s smoky expression, characterized by a light smoky and fruity tone. This edition has been aged in ex-Bourbon hogsheads and finished in a first-fill ex-Tawny port cask.

A classic Highland single malt with a twist, this peated version, like its west coast counterparts, offers a smoky alternative. The gentle, fresh smoke is complemented by notes from the Tawny port finish, bringing hints of milk chocolate and grilled spices.

The finish reveals bitter orange, dark chocolate, and again, those grilled spices.
