Lady of The Glen

Caol Ila 2013

A peaty distillate aged in a refill hogshead before being finished in a first-fill ex-ruby port cask for eight months, imparting floral and red fruit notes.

Undoubtedly, Islay's largest distillery produces one of the island's purest spirits. This lighter character, supported by a peaty backbone, offers versatility in adding secondary cask maturation. In this case, the finishing cask has imparted red fruit, floral, and chocolate characteristics after more than 8 months in an ex-ruby port hogshead from our good friends at Josafer cooperage in Portugal.

Tasting notes revealed:

Smoky seaweed, dark chocolate, and stewed red fruits.
