In the vicinity of the small picturesque town of Pitlochry, in the HIghlands, is the Blair Athol Distillery, which already distilled on site in 1778.

The whiskey is medium-bodied, sweet and fruity. The spirit has been stored, throughout its life, in an ex-wine barrel, a barrique, which previously contained red wine. We therefore find a touch of French oak and mild vinous characters in the aroma. The mouthfeel offers brioche, orange fondant and parmesan.
